Land Use and Development

When Dynamic Development Company purchased half-dozen parcels in the established and highly sought-after neighborhood of Los Feliz, at the prominent intersection of Western and Franklin, they called The Afriat Consulting Group to assist them with entitling the tricky property. The site is right on the border of a neighboring City Council district and surrounded by low-rise and single-story developments in the heart of a very active and anti-development neighborhood.


No significant new projects had been approved in the area for decades. Not surprisingly, the project immediately encountered strong opposition from neighbors and that’s when ACG swung into action. By conducting extensive community outreach, working closely with community stakeholders and building a broad coalition of support to counter the project’s opponents, a foundation for project approval was laid. Community support a highly effective advocacy effort at City Hall, along with carefully managing the media, enabled Dynamic’s project to win the support of the area Councilmember and project approvals, despite significant opposition from ardent neighborhood opponents.
