Alfredo Hernandez serves as The Afriat Consulting Group’s Political Outreach Manager where he oversees campaigns, fundraising and community engagement for the firm.

Prior to joining ACG, Alfredo managed Government Relations for and worked as the Program Director at the non-profit Friends of the Hollywood Central Park, where he managed relationships between the organization and government officials from the municipal through State and Federal levels. His role included providing oversight in the preparation of environmental studies, complicated financing instruments, writing grants and other essential functions for the one billion dollar project. He was instrumental in cultivating support from neighborhood, environmental and labor groups from across Los Angeles for the project.

Before joining the Friends of the Hollywood Central Park, Alfredo was a Community Organizer for the Los Angeles Neighborhood Land Trust where he built diverse coalitions throughout the City. At the Land Trust, he was charged with overseeing the planning, funding, construction and operation of parks in low-income, open-space deprived communities.  Alfredo’s grass roots organizing skills began when he co-founded the East Hollywood Neighborhood Council, where he served as Vice President and Chair of the Planning & Beautification Committee for the group.  Additionally, Alfredo held multiple positions within the City of Los Angeles’ Department of Recreation and Parks for more than a decade.

In addition to being a founding Boardmember of Friends of the Hollywood Central Park, he is a Founding Boardmember of the Hollywood Network Coalition, a broad-based coalition of residents, business, educational institutions and non-profits working to improve Hollywood; he currently serves as the organization’s Chair of Urban Policy and on its Board of Directors.  He has served for five years on Los Angeles’ Prop K. Central Regional Volunteer Neighborhood Oversight Committee, serving as an appointee of both Los Angeles City Councilmember (and now mayor) Eric Garcetti and City Councilmember Mitch O’Farrell. Alfredo has been appointed as a delegate to the California State Democratic Party Convention by both Assemblymember Mike Gatto and Congressmember Adam Schiff.  He is a guest lecturer for the University of San Diego, where he discusses contentious issues such as poverty, diversity and racism.

A native Angeleno, Alfredo has lived in Hollywood his entire life and enjoys spoiling his niece and nephews, playing competitive baseball and supporting local charities and non-profits such as Homeless to Higher Ed and the United States Veterans Artists Alliance.
